Mental Health Practitioner Service

Working in partnership with the Northern Care Alliance (NCA), our adult patients can access experienced mental health professionals. The service bridges the gap between general practice and specialist mental health care to help patients access the right support, faster.

Mental health practitioners are specialist clinicians working alongside our GPs and primary care team. They are skilled in assessing, supporting and signposting patients with a wide range of mental health needs, including:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Stress and low mood
  • Emotional difficulties
  • Early signs of more complex mental health issues

They work closely with the wider NHS mental health teams, ensuring continuity of care and quicker access to the right level of support.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, speak to your GP practice and ask about seeing a Mental Health Practitioner.
