Spirometry is a lung function test which helps diagnose and monitor lung conditions like asthma and COPD, and assess the severity of breathing problems. FeNO (fractional exhaled nitric oxide) is a test used to diagnose and better understand asthma by measuring the inflammation a patient’s airways.
Instrumental in clearing the backlog of patients due to COVID-19, spirometry testing – and now the new FeNO service which began in June 2025 – operates on Fridays from Woodbank Surgery with additional appointments on Wednesdays from Prestwich Health Centre.
The service’s success: October 2024 – May 2025
- More than 1,060 appointments offered
